Living a Godly Life in a Pagan Culture.
The city of Corinth was a major port city along a well traveled trade route, and this made it a hub of culture and commerce in ancient Greece. Corinth was extremely wealthy financially, and yet bankrupt morally. The people had brought a lot of their worldly “wisdom” and immorality with them into the church, causing deep and damaging problems. Paul addresses a number of issues that the church is dealing with, all having their root in carnality. Being in Christ is freedom from sin, not freedom to sin.
Preaching & Teaching
We are passionate about preaching and teaching god’s word with the utmost of integrity. Nehemiah 8:8 describes an expository preaching style, which we seek to embrace and embody to the best of our ability. Our church services, men’s and women’s bible studies, children’s ministry, youth ministry and small groups are specifically designed with the scriptures as our focus.
God has chosen to reveal himself through his written word, therefore understanding him by what he has written becomes vitally important. We seek to submit our understanding and beliefs to the scriptures, and we do not seek to submit the scriptures to our understanding nor beliefs.
